We popped along to the Aldgate Partnership Annual Reception last night at Whitechapel Gallery, and where Switchback Trainee, Aragorn, served food alongside the Cafe from Crisis team – just five days after his release from prison.
Switchback’s Interim CEO Leah said: “Aragorn was amazing. No-one would have known he was out of prison less than a week ago. Aragorn showed huge amounts of courage and enthusiasm.”
In the photo above, Aragorn is meeting Alderman Peter Hewitt, from the City of London. Serving food from Yuu and Boca Empanadas was nervewracking for Aragorn – he said his hands were shaking! – but it was great to meet Alderman Hewitt, who asked lots of questions about Switchback.
The Aldgate Partnership brings together different organisations from the Aldgate area, so it was great for us to attend and spread the good news about Trainees just like Aragorn.
