Switchback are delighted to announce that the City Bridge Trust have decided to support our work with a three-year grant. Their grant will be used specifically to increase our team of Switchback Mentors.
The Trust is the grant making arm of the Bridge House Estates, which was originally established to maintain some of the key bridges in London, including; Blackfriars Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Tower Bridge, London Bridge and, latterly, Millennium Bridge. This maintenance was, at first, funded through tolls and charitable donations. However, after the acquisition of an extensive property portfolio which more than covered the cost of the up-keep of the bridges, Bridge House Estates started distributing any surplus funds to charitable causes through the City Bridge Trust.
Their support will enable us to support more young men in their commitment to live life differently after release from prison, and the prestigious name of the City Bridge Trust will help to further raise the profile of Switchback.
We are proud and grateful that the City Bridge Trust has demonstrated their belief in our work in this way.
