Switchback is an award-winning charity enabling young men to find a way out of the justice system and build stable, rewarding lives. We keep our Trainees at the heart of everything we do.
Switchback Trainees are five times less likely to return to custody
What We Do
Through intensive 1-to-1 support either side of the prison gate and real work training, we enable young men to make real, lasting change. We use our evidence to inspire change across the system.
”Seeing my Switchback Mentor in prison meant I already knew her once I got out. She understands me and understands the journey I’m taking. If I was doing it by myself I reckon things would have gone off track by now.Daniel, Switchback Trainee
We build transformative relationships
Our model is centred on a meaningful relationship between Switchback Mentor and Trainee lasting for as long as it takes.
Real-work training leading to a job after release is just one part of the Switchback process. We challenge and encourage each Trainee to take control and make real, lasting change in his mindset and lifestyle.
Working across London, Switchback supports over 600 young men every year on their journey out of the justice system and towards real, lasting change.
