We are very sad to announce that Switchback trustee, Andrew Fleming-Williams, has passed away this month. Andrew was a wonderful person, warm, kind, wise and supportive. Andrew was also treasurer of the Prison Reform Trust, chairman of the Friends of Wandsworth Prison, and a trustee of both Escaping Victimhood and Blue Sky Development. This meant he had a wealh of knowlede and experience to share.
Andrew first became an official advisor to Switchback in 2011 before becoming a trustee who went above and beyond in helping us to secure major funding – whether it be laptops for Trainees or grants for the programme. We are so fortunate to have had the benefit of Andrew’s kind and dedicated support in so many capacities. His passion and compassion were genuinely inspiring to all of us here, from taking trustees to visit HMP Wandsworth to bringing his considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system to board meetings, his enthusiasm for Switchback and belief in our Trainees was infectious. This is a huge loss for the organisation and Andrew will be much missed by trustees, staff and Trainees alike.
