Switchback in the Dragon’s Den at 10 x 10 Philanthropy

By December 1, 2017No Comments

Switchback entered the ‘Dragon’s Den’ last week when we were invited to pitch at the 10 x 10 Philanthropy event in East London, alongside two other fantastic charities.

Switchback’s Interim CEO Leah had just five minutes to pitch Switchback’s work with young men leaving prisons to three Dragons – Jenny Campbell, an actual Dragon from the BBC show; the founder and CEO of Teach First Brett Wigdortz OBE; and Tim Robinson, Founder and CEO of Doddle. Following the pitch, Leah fielded questions from the three Dragons, and the audience of around 120 people. They asked some fantastic and insightful questions about the way we work.

The event raised in excess of £5,000 for Switchback – we were completely amazed and extremely grateful! In addition, the brilliant conversations with attendees later has led to offers of technical support, opportunities for employment for our Trainees, and also potential participants for our upcoming fundraising challenges.

Thank you to the 10 x 10 team who created, hosted and facilitated the most amazing event and created so many opportunities for Switchback Trainees.
