Work with Switchback

By October 2, 2026No Comments

Thank you for attending ‘Wasteman in Parliament: reshaping release and life after prison’. If you support Switchback’s mission to make sure everyone leaving prison has the tools to build a stable life they can be proud of, we’d love to hear from you. Here’s how you can work with us.

Join our campaign to Reshape Release

The prison system is in an unsustainable state of crisis. We need to Reshape Release to get things right – not just for prison leavers, but for society as a whole. Switchback is proposing a National Resettlement Framework that guarantees access to bare essentials including:

  • A safe place to live
  • ID
  • A bank account
  • Employment support
  • Skilled, 1-to-1 support through the transition from prison to community

We know this approach can work.

At the moment, nearly half of prison leavers nationally are back inside within a year – but only 10% of Trainees that complete the Switchback programme reoffend.

The evidence shows that proper through-the-gate support, and being equipped with the essentials, reduces reoffending. Release is a pivotal moment – but right now, we’re missing it.

We can and must do better.

Donate to Switchback

Switchback’s donors are the reason we are able to help more than 500 young men each year on their journey out of the justice system.

Without your support, none of what we do would be possible. All our funding comes from people and organisations just like you, who believe in the power of long-term, unconditional support.

If you would like to donate via bank transfer, set up a direct debit, or have any other questions about donating to Switchback please email fundraising@switchback.org.uk.
